As you guys might already know, I'm not all cupcakes and lipstick all the time and when it comes to what I do, photography is my #1. As a part of wanting to take on photography more full-time, I'm starting an ever so cliché 365 project. If you're not familiar, it's basically where you take a photo each day and document them somewhere — be it Flickr or a tumblr, or whatever. I'll be putting my photos here (I have an actual domain but it's still configuring), but you can also check them out here if you'd like. I'm pretty excited to see how this goes.
Does anyone else have any personal projects (outside of beauty and blogging) that they're working on?
I feel so lame, but I can't think of anything outside of Popbasic that I do. Eek! Though I do want to purchase a nice camera~ photography is something that I really want to get into. Do you recommend a good starter camera?
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to have a side project — especially so you don't get super burnt out! I use a Canon 400D right now, and while it may be quite old, it's amazing! x
DeleteOne of my best friends did this same project a couple years ago and posted all of her pics on Facebook. Seeing the photos she took every day was a real treat and all of the people on her friends list really enjoyed looking through them too. It was also really nice to see the development of the seasons throughout the year (on her outdoor shots).
ReplyDeleteMy personal project is still my classic film blog. I'm really proud of it and I try to update it at least once every week. I know I should be patient, but I just wish sometimes that it would get more recognition than it has. Don't get me wrong, I'm not fishing for compliments or free advertising, but it's my little darling and I can't wait to see it mature :)
Patience is key! I started this blog in 2011 as a hobby and it's what I work on most of the time now! It's really hard to break through but I think being yourself, finding your niche and finding people who are interested in the same things you are is a really great way to get out there! x

ReplyDeleteFilm is my favorite! I would probably exclusively shoot it if I could keep up with the cost of development/learn how to develop, but alas I only use my Minolta for special occasions. I'll definitely check out your cargo! I use Aperture to edit all of my photos :) x
