Photo Inspiration: Wildfox PJs + Daisy's Girls

Every time a new wildfox collection (or two) is announced I feel obligated to at least post something about it/them. Back when I first started my blog, Wildfox was one of the few brands I kept and eye on and wrote about or featured. I can't help myself. I'll forever be enamored.

The newest additions? A line of gorgeous and comfy-looking pjs coming in October, designed by Leilani Shimoda + the ever-lovely Kimberley Gordon. File under things I probably don't need but still want anyway.

And while I'm still kicking myself for not getting anything from the Marie Antoinette line in 2011, Daisy's Girls might just be what I need to redeem myself. The Great Gatsby is back in the form of dreamy clothing. Whether or not you like the book, this collection is undoubtedly adorable. Must. Hold. Back.

Why I'm jealous of the UK & Europe

Disclaimer: This isn't for the faint of heart.

As if I needed another thing to be completely and utterly obsessed with, & Other Stories is finally here. Well actually, not here, but there. You get what I'm saying?

I'm a sucker for anything leather. Anything minimal. Anything classic.  Now I've got my fair share of frills, but when it comes to hitting the sweet spot, any of the above will do. The adorable packaging on their cosmetics is something I just can't turn away from — and those cotton socks? They will be mine. & Other Stories is a store (and online shop) that aims to sell chic and timeless pieces. Items that are high quality and will last, ones that are carefully hand-picked. Even the website itself is just too perfect. It somehow seems to be the perfect online shopping experience, and yet, I unfortunately cannot shop. While some of the pieces are a bit on the pricier side (but obviously worth it), there are a huge number of things that are really really affordable. Something for everyone, you know? If it still ain't your cup of tea, that's alright. It just means there's more for me.

I'm pretty determined to get my paws on all some pieces — but I'll have to enlist the help of someone to do so. Or you know, I'll just casually fly on over to London and pick them up myself. Ha ha ha.

Huge huge huge thanks to Bridie for introducing me to this collection. ♡ You can see her post on it here.

For Love & Lemons | About a Girl - Spring '13

Photos via For Love & Lemons

❝Where the modern gypsy is punk, For Love & Lemons is a brand to relate to,
for that girl that doesn't follow trends, she makes them.❞

Sometimes a collection comes along and slips through — somehow, some way, I miss them. Then one day while I'm meandering around the internet, I find it. For Love & Lemons, that is.

I'm pretty sure if there was a collection to encompass me as a person, this would be it. Flowing, frilly, all sheer everything. I love the lightness of it which all seems ever so reminiscent of this scene in Marie Antoinette. Its ethereal color palette is ultra feminine with a sexy-and-yet-gentle side. I already knew I was into the chunky heels/wedges + socks this season but this all just furthers that. It's like, tou know when you see someone who seems as though they just woke up and and were just immediately effortlessly chic? This is it. This is all of that.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for the blush pinks and sheer pattered kimono/dresses. Maybe it's Ashley's fresh makeup; light blue eyes and a perfect rose lip. The messy tresses that I can never stray away from. Of course a lot of it is the dreamy/fucking perfect styling (Ashley Glorioso you are a damn goddess) but I can't help but to look at these clothes and not want to be in them. Half-naked in the kitchen or lounging around in the sun — there's something about what I'm seeing here that makes me ever so nostalgic for summer. Then suddenly that nostalgia is overtaken by the utter realization that I need to own at least once piece from this collection. It's just so relatable.

A lesson in layering: 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2013 RTW

Photos via Vogue

Sometimes fashion makes no sense to me — take the hats at Oscar de la Renta, for example. Then there are collections that make complete and utter sense to me. This is one of them.

Layering is something I'm a huge fan of, always have been always will be. There's just something about mixing textures and colors that makes me giddy, especially when it translates into things like preppy biker chick. Leathers, quilted jackets, half-tucked button downs, are just a few of my favorite aspects of this collection. Not to mention the crazy high sandal-boots and the pop of pink. To me it's not just about the clothes either — it's also about the styling. It's about the carefully picked pieces tucked and covered which kind of give off an "I don't give a shit" attitude. Then you realize that it all makes sense because Lim named this collection Sonomama or “as you are” in Japanese (which refers to the steadfast style of moto-racing enthusiasts[1]). It works so well... and maybe it's just me but there's something about dressing like you don't care that reeks of interestingness and confidence. Pair that with messy French-esque hair and chocolate colored lips (swoon) and you've got yourself something really good.

Also, let us not forget the color palette. As someone who wears a ton of black, there's something within this palette that screams at me. Maybe it's the navy and dark plum subbing in for the normal black or the comfortableness of the grey mixed with colors like bright pink and tans/burnt browns. Or maybe it's the fact that it all just looks comfortable and feminine without it being overpoweringly girly or too try-hard. And yes yes yes I know, the patches are a little much but honestly? If I could get away with wearing that, I soooo would.

What do you guys think?

Chloé Pre-Fall 2013

images via Vogue

I think there's no denying the fact that when a collection comes out that I really love, I obsess. Chloé Pre-Fall 2013 is no exception.

Clare Waight Keller has done it once again with this sixties mod inspired, masculine yet super feminine collection. Light blue paired with bright red and forest green seem like an uncanny match at first but it's an alluring combination. We have that staple 60's mustard-yellow skirt which sends me images of long haired blondes and shag carpet, but even so the ensemble just screams modern. Pairing a piece like that with brown leather boots and a dusty-pink blouse is what makes it so great — making you feel like it's something you would actually wear today, even though the color of the skirt itself seems so dated and vintage.

Androgyny shines through with cropped tailored pants and super boxy tops, but none of this is new for Chloé. The harsh lines and warm textures and colors; it's all quite soft but sharp and yet, everything seems to balance out in the end. What's not to love? I'd definitely take this over Lanvin's [animal] print heavy pre-fall collection any day. Also can we just talk about that black drop-waist dress with the super flared skirt paired with those black ankle boots? Edgy, sophisticated and totally chic.

I'm not going to say much more about this other than I've got Sir Serge playing wishing I was in a café in Paris eating ridiculously delicious food in one of these outfits. Light pink, black, greys, and light blue? I'm all over it.  Chloé is always a heartbreaker for me (in that I can't afford anything), but I'll always be here lusting over it.

What do you guys think? Do you like fashion posts like this? I kind of miss doing them!

Dreaming of Ice Cream

Jersey Skater Skirt · Topshop
Wedges · H&M

The fact that there isn't a Topshop here in the Bay Area makes my heart cry a little bit. It's my favorite store in the entire world and I feel a little jealous of anyone who can go whenever they want. Yes, I know I can shop online, but what's the fun in that? Their clothes seem to fit like a dream and everything I found there was as if it was made for me. Plus, trying on clothes is half the fun of shopping!

I found this top which I was a bit iffy about (until I tried it on) and absolutely loved it paired with this skirt. I'm a sucker for any kind of collar so I kind of couldn't say no. Also, hello?! How cute are the ice cream cones?!

The Jersey Skater Skirt is probably the best skirt I own because it's soooo comfortable and goes with everything. Blouses, t-shirts, sweaters, you name it and it will probably look super cute with the skirt. The wedges I've had for-ev-er — they were super cheap, probably $25 or so and have lasted me 6+ months which is pretty long considering how much I've worn them. I'm pretty sure H&M is still carrying them so I may have to go in and grab a new pair because these are starting to fall apart :(

It's still taking me forever to shoot, edit, and upload outfit posts, but they're the most fun and totally worth the time and effort. I hope you guys enjoy this little number as much as I do!

Wild Wild Horses

Jumper · Topshop
Leggings · H&M
Boots · Urban Outfitters

This is officially my first outfit post and to be honest, it was a hell of a lot of work. Kudos to all you lovely blogger ladies that do this on a daily basis (though I will be trying to do that too). Luckily my couch is light so I could move it and use the only plain wall we have in the house, wheeeee.

I'm heading to the city tonight where it's usually always ~10º colder, so boots and sweater it is! When I saw this sweater in Topshop I immediately fell in love and couldn't not have it. The boots are something slightly out of my comfort zone, but I love them. I got them for my birthday — I spotted them, Richard loved them and proceeded to coax me into buying them. I've got to say, they were totally worth it; I wore them while in NYC and they were super comfortable and really cute, duh.

I'm excited to do more posts like this and hopefully after doing it a few more times I'll have it down to a science. What do you guys think?

Wildfox Couture Spring 2013 Swimwear

It's no surprise that once Wildfox releases a new collection I'm right on top of blogging about it. It's no surprise that they're one of my favorite brands as I've covered them quite a bit before.

Their 2013 swimwear line is called Diamonds are Forever and it's obvious that their inspiration was 007, as their cookbook is just full on 60's Bond girl. Bombshell, dark sultry eyes, super feminine clothing (I mean look at those cover-ups). High waisted bikini bottoms are so sexy and flattering and the Union Jack suit is just too perfect — I told you I was a sucker. The whole collection makes me want to jet-set to the South of France with nothing but bikinis and kimonos. Au revoir.

Minkpink Spring/Summer 2011

Now I don't know about you all, but I absolutely L-O-V-E this collection. It's vintage inspired – full of chic pieces and girly prints. I'm definitely a huge fan of all of the florals, bright whites, tans, and olive greens. All of the colors (while not everyday color combinations, especially with these florals) easily compliment each other making this line not only super cute but super soft on the eyes as well. Minkpink is wonderful and if you haven't heard of them before (they're Australian!), I definitely suggest you check them out. Plus, their video features one of my favorite bands Two Door Cinema Club ;) Couldn't possibly get any better!

You can find their clothes at Revolve Clothing or Asos!

So you had to know this would happen sooner or later - you know - a post about Vivienne Westwood's Spring 2011 RTW collection. I'm super sad that I didn't get to see her exhibit at FIT, but it's all good. This collection alone is enough to keep me satisfied. Romantic. Elegant. Perfect.

Favorite bloggers. Oh yes.

I've been so busy this week (we're in the NYC/Brooklyn cat sitting for a friend), so I figured I'd do something a little different. I've been reading/following blogs like crazy but I totally want to feature some of my favorites.

Cintia of BerriesLoveBeauty is so adorable; I couldn't possibly talk more highly of her blog. She dresses in the cutest clothes and always has something awesome to say. Her pictures are awesome, and her taste in fashion is even better. Her latest post about her strawberry nails is one of the most awesome things I've seen in a while. Totally check her out.

Lauren Woodward. Brunette. Gorgeous. Down to earth. Her outfits are different than most of the people I follow but even so, hello fabulous! Featuring her Alexander Wang bag in tons of posts, she totally makes me want to drop $900 on a handbag.

Miss Maja Ravn is ridiculous (in the best way possible). Seriously. She's young, gorgeous, and has an amazing amazing amazing sense of style. Check out her blog and see for yourself -- she doesn't disappoint.

http://www.lusttforlife.com/ holds a bit of sentiment for me. I've been reading Olivia's blog for-freaking-ever, and I love it just as much as I did on the first day I found it. She's chic, classy, and has the best vintage pieces. She's made me fall in love with Spanish Moss and reminds me every day why I can't wait to move to California.

This is Sydney. Not only does she have fantastic taste in clothes, but she blogs about her life, her loves, and just about anything else she can think of. Her and her hubby are the cutest things ever (aside from Richard and I, of course ;) and I love reading about their adventures, life, and clothes. Check 'em outtttt!

I hope you love these as much as I do! I have so many more favorites, but these ladies deserved some honorable mentions this week! Which blogs do you read/love? Who do you think should be featured in weeks to come? Let me know!

As usual, click through! <3

It's summer, that calls for a wardrobe update - fancy any of these summer dresses anyone?
